Putting Sherman overdrive in TO 30 are there different levers the one I have will interfere with steering arm

I've got the same problem with the TO-20 I'm working on, except it's a Combo. As long as it's in low/high range, it's fine, but if I pull it out to shift into standard, the arm hits it. I'm sure the overdrive is worse as the handle sticks out even farther. Not sure what the best solution would be, although I saw a 9N Ford one time that they had heated the steering arm up on and offset it about an inch with two close bends. The 9N's have a similar steering arm arrangement.
