Being that I am "electrical dummy #1", I need help with some rewiring I would like to do.
My TE 20 has been converted to 12 volt, negative ground.
The ignition switch is a standard automotive type , with a "start" position, which I now use. I am very concerned about safety, so I would like to be able to use the "s" position on the gearshift. May I assume, by using the proper wiring, I could use the switch in the bell housing, simply by wiring from the existing ign. switch? In other words, the safety switch could be wired to act as a "jumper"?

I guess I wasn't clear; I actually need a schematic to show the interconnect between the ignition switch and the safety switch in the bell housing.
There was a gentleman on this site that is an electrical engineer. Perhaps he will see this and be able to furnish a schematic.

As long as the safety switch is incorporated into the feed wiring to the starter switch it will work and you will not be able to start it in gear.

There is some chance the ignition switch was wired that way because the switch on the bell housing isn't working properly. If it's the same as on a TEA (not sure), it can be loosened and slid back and forth a bit to adjust just when it engages.

All the TE series carb engined tractors are the same basically, only variations are to length of wiring for regulator and some terminals. The switch is the same on them all.
