TE20 PTO seal

My PTO was leaking ,so i decided to replace the seal. When i pulled the shaft i could NOT find anything that looked like a seal.. Looking at the input side of the shaft i see a bearing. Looking at the output side of the shaft i see a bearing.I pressed a new seal on the transmission side of the shaft as to where it rest against the bearing clip.Everything fits well , but the seal lacks a quarter inch being flush. . Am i in the right direction or best start over?Any help appreciated

Per the Ferguson Parts Manual, starting with the PTO hub that bolts to the rear axle casting, the order of parts is:
sleeve retaining snap ring, oil seal sleeve,
oil seal,bearing retainer snap ring,
bearing assembly, bearing retainer snap ring.
This is common to the T0-20,-30, Ford 9N & 2N, TE-20, & TE-A20.
