Recently,while bushhogging I had a bit of a breakdown:my toplink pulled clean through the rocker eyes,then my bushhog was lifted as high as possible w/o me touching the fingertip control.After disconnecting the bushhog and re-engaging the pto the lift arms went all the way to the up position w/o any activation of the hydraulic control.When placing the fingertip control in the down position the arms stayed up, even when I stood on the arms they would not go down as they normally would with weight.I got my nephew to stand on one lift arm and I stood on the other,still no downside movement.I fear the breakdown of the toplink rocker has somehow damaged my hydraulics.Comments and/or suggestions would be most welcome.It has taken me a year to get this 1952 tractor up to bushhogging capability only to have a huge setback like this,very frustrating.

There will be some damage to the Control Linkage inside, most likely someone has been towing from the top link Rocker connection. Email me at:-
fergusontractors(at)tiscali.co.uk and I will send the information you need to check it and carry out the repairs. Just remind me when you email what the problem is. If the Rocker is damaged as you say you need to locate one, the part number is 2182 Ferguson, they may tell you it isn't available but ask them to call Batavia, Illinois, Central Parts warehouse, it is available from UK and they should order it for you. Any problems let me know. You will probably have to make the bush though.

Sounds like your control valve is not responding. It could be binding or the control arms may have come off as a result of the other failure you had.
You need to get a manual or call for John(UK)and he may be able to send you some material on this problem.
