I have TO-20 that I am restoring. I found a TE-20 that I can get for a good price for parts. I wanted to know if the parts will interchange.
Specifically the transmission back. I need some lift parts, axles, pto, and transmisson parts. I know these are supposed to be the same tractor TE-20 made in England and TO-20 made in US.
Any input would be appreciated.

I don't have a lot of experience about this so this opinion is probably worth what it is costing you.My understanding is that they are very much the same except that TE models have an aluminum transmission housing to dissipate heat better because the British oils of that time couldn't tolerate as much heat.If you look closely you will be able to see a slight difference in colour between the tranny case and the engine because the paint ages differently on aluminum.I would also think that some of the bearings may come from different suppliers. The seals are interchangable but most original TE seals are red while TO seals are black.
