I own a 49 to-20, i reacently dissasembled the governor because i didnt think it was working. it is the style with a stamped peice of steel with the weights pinned to this. all of the holes in the steel and weights are worn out of round severly. im having trouble finding these parts for the to-20, just wondering if anyone knows where i could find these parts or if the style for a to-30 would work. thanks a bunch

The governor assy. is the same on all the carburettor engines, it fits the TE20 and the TEA and TED and the TO35 and the MF35...all the same. they sell them on this site for USA or CEFS in Canada. Sparex part number is S42423 The Mushroom in the centre is S42421 You will need the information on how to reset the governor again. If you need this email me.

The new governor I fitted to my TE (which had a larger bore & therefore needed reducing, was listed as being for TEA, MF35, 135. Unless that was wrong and it was meant for something completely different, I don"t believe they are all the same.

There is only one governor plate and weights listed as far as I can see, there used to be a ball type listed for use on the TO20/30/35 but that doesn't appear anymore. The plate type is MF part 825890M91 or Sparex S42423 or Bepco 30/6689-1, I don't think they are available from MF at the moment, I have seen the Sparex one and it is correct, I don't know about the Bepco part as I haven't seen that one only a picture of it and it looks identical to the original, so just what that one was you used I can't think, it would be interesting to find out.

Flyweight type governor still available. I recently fitted one for a later model to my TE20 - had to braze a collar to reduce dia of hole in centre & file one fixing bolt hole to get bolts to line up. Same otherwise. Got mine from Restoration supply, as this site doesn"t ship outside USA.

Apologies for incorrect info. I did get some parts from Restoration supply - others from Old 20 Parts Co in UK. The governor (believe it was meant for TEA) came from them.
