My Dad and I recently tore into my tractor and witnessed what a engine will look like if the fluids are never changed. There was enormous amount of sludge in the oil pan and mineral deposits around the sleeves. I bot the tractor a couple of months ago at an auction. We were hoping to just do a valve job and put in a overhaul kit. However, most of the engine was terribly worn, but the block was not cracked. So far I have purchased an overhaul overbore kit, camshaft, rockerarm shaft and bushings, valve guides, valve seats. Most of these parts are from Sealed Power. Has anyone had any experience using aftermarket products and with overbore kit? I also had to have my crankshaft, valves, lifters and rocker arms grounded, and the vale intake seats drilled out. My question is, since I am not replacing these items new ( mostly due to cost) what kind of life can I expect from this engine? When we are done, the entire engine will be new or rebuilt. I hope the transmission continues work well. Thanks for any advice.
