I have found what appears to be a 1950's TO-30 but the serial number which is TO 45537 seems to fall within the the late 1940's TO-20 number range on the FENA Chart. The Continental motor number is Z129 325397. Anyone have an idea? It has small thin front tires & wheels and the Ferguson 30 emblem appears to be held on on both sides of the hood with different bolts/screws. It does have the 30 shift knob and appears to have what I think is the 30 instrument panel. Any other ways to tell?? I do have photos if anyone is interested. Any and all help would be most appreciated....John A.

Thanks John & phil for the reply. I have posted a fourth photo in tractor photos of the dash. I am perplexed about this particular Ferguson since I was interested in making it my first project tractor (my grandfather farmed with a TO-30, many hours spent riding the fenders and later working with this great tractor).

Now, I"m not too sure about this Fergie. Plus I think it may have been sold. Any suggestions would be most appreciated....Thanks again for your expertise.

In addition to the possiblity John mentioned, instead of it being a 20 with a 30 engine, another possibility is it is a TO-30 that has had the dash (and perhaps steering box) replaced with one from a TO-20, and they didn"t swap the serial number plates on the dash.

If it has a Z129 engine then it is a TO30, that is basically the main difference between the TO20 and the TO30.....It may have had the engine changed and from the number it looks very much like it has. A TO 30 would have the air intake on the dash panel if it hasn't, that confirms that it has had an engine change. If it is the tyres that are bothering you, they were an option.
