I would like to find what information I can on the Ferguson tractor and Davis backhoe attachment in this photo. Can anyone date this setup? Any info, comments, or leads are welcome.

Good grief, do those things really work? It looks like the backhoe is way to big for the fergy to handle. Does it work of the hydraulics?Is that a counter weight or an hydraulics tank on the front of the tractor?

Yes they work! Great little trencher/stumper. Long reach and strong hydraulics. The hydraulic pump is driven off the engine crankshaft up front and is inside the oil sump with additional cast steel counterweight on top of it. As shown in the first photo, down pressure on the bucket could lift the tractor to a three point stance, bucket and the front tires. I also know that it will go to a two point stance resting on the hydraulic tank and bucket - not reccommended. It can easily pull/rock the whole rig about the down riggers too if you try to bring more than you should out of a hole with the bucket. The bucket knuckle has tremendous power to cut or break roots loose.
