TEA20 ring gear need help

I need help. I have what I believe to be a Harry Ferguson TEA20 tractor ser. # 212178. The I.D. tag on the steering column plate is stamped tea 212178. It does not have a "20" stamped on it. How can I be sure it is in fact a TEA "20". Is there any other place on the tractor that an identifying mark can be found? I am a first time restorer/owner of a tractor. The part I need is a rear end differential "ring gear w/ pinion" I have found several at other places that claimed it would fit however they did not measure the same as the one I removed from the tractor. They were all larger in diameter. The books say that the ring gears from the TO20 and TEA20 are interchangeable but laid side by side, they do not match. I hope you can offer me some help and possibly the parts. My ring gear measures 12-9/16" in overall dia. & 7-1/4" inner dia. The tooth crown width is 1-11/16". It has a 40 tooth count on the ring and 6 (six) on the pinion. The pinion base dia. is 2.700". Hoping to hear from you soon. Thanks, Rudy Keszey Harrison MI email: [email protected]

None of them have "20" stamped on them, no need...it tells you what it is when it says TEA and then the number. There are two different rear axles for these tractors, one is heavier than the other, they changed at serial 325,001 after that they were larger diameter. The ring gears from a TO20 and a TEA20 are the same up to that number so you have been looking at the later type. If you see a tractor with equally spaced bolts around the trumpet housing where it attaches to the centre housing, that is an early type axle.On the later type there are a lot more bolts around the bottom part for strength.
