I have a 1951 to20. Starts up fine and runs great. But after about a hour or so of working it pretty hard it starts to sputtering and carrying on and eventually dies. I can let it set for a little while and it will start right back up and run , but will do the same thing. Anybody have any ideas what is going on? Thanks, Norm

I would suspect the condensor or the coil. When they are faulty they will act up when they get hot and operate when cold. I have known folks to pour cold water on the coil to cool it down, then wipe it off and try starting the engine, if it runs change the coil. Condensors are cheap, just replace it. Before doing any thing I would check the point gap (.022) and plug gap(.025 to .027) and if OK move on to the condensor and then the coil. A coil can be checked with a meter but not sure what the specs are maybe Jerry/MT can, he has an electrical back ground I think.
