I finally got the thing to give up fuel to the engine. After the first cleaning and rebuild, I couldn't get the carb to give up any fuel, so I disassembled it AGAIN. This time, rather than only using solvent and compressed air to remove dirt from the passages, I used thin copper wire to clean out areas that the solvent couldn't get.

I stripped stranded 10 ga. and 12 ga. wire and used the strands to gently push the passages clear. This removed quite a bit more goo than I ever expected.

I reassembled the carb and Presto! The ol' Fergie fired right up on her own fuel!

Hope this helps some others that had wrestling matches with rebuilding MS carbs. ~ Dave
