TO-30 HELP

I"ve had my 30 for 3 yrs it has never let me down but from day 1 it has had water in the oil those I"ve talk to say run it till it quits want to fix it I live on the coast of NC don"t have a lot of resources can anyone help.

I presuming that you are talking about significant amounts of water in the oil not just a few drops of condensate on the oil fill cap.If the engine overheated, there is the possibility of a cracked block/head. There's also the possibility that the head gasket is leaking. The only way to find out is to pull the head and look. If it's the head gasket that's relatively cheap.

If you've had water in the oil for over three years why are you worrying about it now? You're probably looking at some other potential problems like main and rod bearing replacement, too. You could have avoided that by fixing it sooner. A remanufactured engine is gonna' cost about $1800 but if you can do the work yourself, you can get by for about $1000-$1200. The other alternative is to part the tractor out or sell it as is. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
