Just purchased a TE-20 with the Z120 engine. Tractor looks and runs good, but I cannot find the engine oil filter. The oil pan has no access cover in the bottom like my TO-20, but it does have the rods running on each side of the oil pan. Was this normal not to have a oil filter? Any suggestions? The oil pressure is low at an idle (0 psi) but increases as the speed increases. Have not checked it with a new guage to make sure it's not a guage issue. Thanks for looking.....

"TE-20 with the Z120 engine"

Same engine as your TO-20... Same filter location. If you do not have the 6" diameter filter access plate on the bottom like your TO-20 then the oil pan may have been removed and replaced at some point. The side rods are a TE/TO difference, but are unrelated to the oil system.

Jeff, Thanks for responding! I'm thinking that I will need the correct oil pan, the suction bell, and return line as well for my TE-20. Do you know if the Z120 was used in another application without a oil filter or maybe a remote mounted filter? I just think it strange this engine has no filter at all....

KGRIFF, What did you end up doing with yours? Did you put on the correct pan and if so, did you need to get the proper suction bell and/or replace the pump? Could a TO-30 filter housing be installed? Thanks for responding.
