TO 30 conversion to 12 volt system

Does anyone have any information for converting a TO 30 over to a 12 volt system. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Joe

There are many sources for this info including the following link and archives as already mentioned. I suggest doing the 3 wire hook up rather than the 1 wire because you have to rev. your engine up to nearly 3000 RPM to get it to begin charging. Not so with the 3 wire hook up. I went to Checker Auto parts and bought a 30 amp Delco alternator to fit a 1976 Chevrolet Elcamino. (you have to tell them something)

and tell me if your tractor has an ammeter and if it has a warning light or not.

Check the heading at the top of the page for a kit. Check the archives. This has been discussed many times in the past. You can buy a whole kit or buy which parts you want. I bought the wiring package and the wide pulley from the vendor and then bought the alternator from an auto supply.
