I recently purchased a massey 30 tractor at an auction. I plan to use this tractor to mow pastures. I would like to identify the year the tractor was built and what the horse power rating is in order to find the correct size bush hog. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Bryan

I am thinking that by "Massey 30", you are refering to a Massey Harris 30. They were made from about 1946 through about 1953 before the merger of Massey Harris and Harry Ferguson into Massey-Ferguson. YOu are probably more likely to get the help that you need on the MH & MF Forum but below is the Nebraska test on a Massey 30... looks like it is in the 30+ Hp range... If you really were refering to a Ferguson TO-30, they were a little less Hp at about 27... Jim

Model:Massey-Harris 30 RT (Massey-Harris Co., Racine, Wis.)

Test G resulted in a low-gear maximum pull of 3273 lbs. Fuel economy at Test C maximum load of 33.03 belt horsepower was 11.09 horsepower hours per gallon. Test D rated load of 30.09 belt horsepower yielded 10.84 hp hours/gallon.
