What sort of control box should I have in my 1958 Standard Motor Company 4 cyl diesel engined FE35?

I have a Lucas RB108, I'm sure the book I have suggests it should be RB107, it also suggests I have two 6 volt batteries in series but I only have the one 12 volt battery!

According to the FE-35 parts list which I've got it lists RB108 as the box.
Here in the UK 6 volt batteries are quite expensive and so buying 1 12volt battery is far cheaper
