I live near Des Moines, Ia.
I am looking for the correct paint for my 1949 Fergie. My Dad bought it new in 1949 and had it repainted once sometime in the 70's. Whoever did the painting did not do a very good job. The paint has severly faded. I plan to have an automoble body shop repaint it, but I want to be sure and get the proper color of grey.

Dear Gaylen:

Did you ever get any information on paint color? I'm trying to get the right paint match for my 1951 Ferguson TO 20. It's probably the same as for your 1949 model.

Can you help me?

Thanks.

I just finished a TO-20. I used a Dupont urethane that you have to mix with a hardener/activator. It is much better than what they used in the 40's and 50's. Kinda spendy though. The dupont paint code for the factory color is 57704. My TO-20 shines much better than when it was painted originally. I would recommend using dupont, it was worth the extra money. tom
