If you are using towing to try to unstick the clutch, use 4th gear only. Anything less will not transfer as much torque to the clutch... put it in 4th gear... Keep the clutch fully depressed while someone tows it... If you let it start, then apply the brakes (with the clutch depressed)while adding throttle to increase the torque... This still may not do it.. Jim

I put a good load behind the tractor and got it into gear while it was running. I had tried this several times with no luck before. I never was able to get it to go into 4th gear, but when it finally came loose it wasn't even moving. I had just killed it trying to free it, restarted the tractor and put it back into gear, without even lurching forward it popped loose.

Good deal! Thanks for sharing that... I am not surprised that you couldn't get it into 4th while running... I was refering to towing it from a complete stop (engine not running)... This method would not have been better than what you did... if you were able to stall the engine under full throttle, that is about as good as you can do and it doesn't matter what gear as long as you can get a full engine load... Jim
