John,

I have someone asking me for info about an FE35. The SN is:
FE 35 sdm 166155

I have that as a 1959 do you agree?

Also,
I have a someone ask me about a TE-20
SN: TE 79730: She has verified it has a Cont. Z120 engine and is not marked TEA and that it is def. 79730 not 29730. The Z120 engine sn is: 47164.

Does any of this match-up? is there any way to tell if the engine has been replaced? i.e. other residual TEA items that were not on the TE"s.

Sorry for the delay in replying, we had a power outage last evening so I got no mail done at all.
I agree with you about the FE35-1959
The TE was made on or about the 10th Jan 1949 which is long after the TE was supposed to have stopped production (Aug'48) but these things do happen and it is possibly an engine they had hanging around the production line area. There was no organised way they took engines for the line, it would appear that they took the nearest one and if this was right at the back then it would be the last to go. I can't think of anything that would tell us if the tractor, apart from engine, was a TEA type because they were supposed to be the same at that time. Have you checked the dates on the castings near the round inspection holes as that will give you a clue. They have found a number of TE's that were built among the TEA's after the Aug'48 date, so this could be one of those.
