Please could anybody help? We have recently bought a Ferguson TEA 20. Our knowledge of tractors is minimal although we live on a smallholding and need a tractor. It had not been used for a couple of years, a kind soul got it going, we bought it home and put on a new battery. It now turns over but won't fire, there is no spark from the spark plugs (they have been checked OK)the points are sparking although not very well. Could any body help?

I would first replace points and condenser that will probably fix your spark problem.

Check: plug leads/coil/points/condenser/distributer cap
coil lead.
