TO-30 brake pedal adjust. How?

I took off my brake drums and cleaned up the brakes. The left and right brake work great but the brake for both hardly works. How do I adjust this. I cleaned up the adjustment at the end of the rod and tried loosening then tightening it but no difference. Is their an adjustment in the back?

If you have played around with the brake rods you have now upset the balance. The brakes have to be adjusted through the back plate of the drums Tighten the brakes adjustment up using a screwdriver as a lever, push the handle towards the axle to tighten, then slacken off 6 "clicks" and see if the wheel turns freely. Drive the tractor forward in 3rd gear with your foot on the brake and if the tractor pulls to the left slacken that side a couple of "clicks" until it pulls straight. To re-adjust the rods, disconnect at the front end from the cross-shaft and pull the rod forward to take up any slack in the linkage and adjust the clevis on the end of the rod until you can just slide the pin through when you refit it, do both sides like this before you adjust the brakes in the drum. If you strip the brakes down in the drum, take note of which spring goes where, if you get them wrong it may not brake forward or only in reverse. Make sure that the independent brake pedals are free BEFORE you do the brake adjustment by LIFTING each independent brake pedal in turn, if the brake rod that runs alongside the gearbox bends then it is seized and will have to be freed off before you can adjust the brakes.
