my TO-30 has a valve tap that ALMOST goes away once the engine warms up to operating temp. anyone have any suggestions as to what i could do to help the tap short of pulling the head?
thanks.

we have tappet noise in all our tractors there mechanical. i've tighten them up and they still make a little noise nothing really to worry about.

On the Standard engine we get a tapping sound when the engine is idling if the camshaft is worn on the rear bearing, it usually shows up as low oil pressure to the valve gear though. Can't say I have heard of it on the Continental but it could be as the engines are very similar in design.

steve, I had one on my TO30 that we couldnt adjust out. Just left it as was and didnt seem to hurt it any during the last few years we used it.
