does anyone know why the new seal I just recieved looks different than the original seal I took out.The original seal is much wider (Thicker)looking. Do I use two Seals side by side ? I know the original is made of something like leather, and the new seal is like rubber. Thanks

It's probably nothing other than a different supplier or manufacturer, the leather seal was there to try to prevent some damage to the actual rubber lip of the seal when grass etc. gets wrapped around the shaft, but the seal itself will be the same.

I thought I had the same problem , just drive it in. If it's the same as mine it shouldn't leak. I have about 35 miles on my rebuild and have seen any oil YET !! good luck.
