My TEA-20 has been converted to a 12volt system (Maybe it was always 12volt?) Shortly after I bought the tractor I decided to clean it up. I took out the battery not paying attention to what was grounded. I am now about to put the 12v battery back in and don't know if the postive was ground or the negative. Any suggestions appreciated.

All TEA's serial # 200001 and above had a 12 volt system from the factory. Lucas Electric produced the generator,starter, coil. The system has a positive ground. If yours was altered you may be able to tell how yours was connected by the size of the batttery post connectors if you did not spread them too much when you pulled the cables off. I hope this helps.

I am not familiar with your particular tractor, but in general, the easiest way to see if the battery is in correctly would be to turn the key to the position that turns on your lights. If the amp meter goes to the right, (which shows "charging") the battery polarity is incorrect. Hope this might help
