Hodwy, all.
I dropped my starter at a rebuilder's place more than a week ago. I called him today because I hadn't heard from him and he said he needs me to find out what the model number is so he can get parts because he can't read the plate on the starter. I'm going to give him one more try at this and give him the info. Do any of you have the model number or any other info on these motors? This is off of a 1953 TO-30.

Hi Darren
I had my starter rebuilt on my 1952 TEA-2085, there was no markings on this starter what so ever. I took it to a place that specializes in Alternators and Starters. The guy asked me what it was off and I told him , thtas all. They had it rebuilt in 1 day at a cost of $95( Can ) I dont see why your guy is having a problem, Good Luck ,,, Barry

Posting below was the Ferguson Part number... won't do him any good... Here is the Delco Remy tag with model etc... However, I will also give my opinion.... If your electric guy cannot fix your starter just because he doesn't have a model number, I don't think that he is worth a grain of salt. I'd pick it up and take it to a good auto-electric place (doesn't have to be tractor).. They should be able to do bench rebuild on about anything no matter what is wrong... That is my 2 cents... Jim

Yeah, that's what I thought, too. In fact, I'm pretty sure the tag on my starter was readable when I dropped it off, so I'm not sure what's going on here. This is at an auto electric shop that rebuilds starters and alternators, but they don't seem to be running a very tight ship.
