Water in Exhaust ?

1952 TO30
When I first crank it up it spews some water from the exhaust and the coolant level is down a little. What could be causing this? No water in the oil or oil in the water and this thing will not over heat. I put a new radiator, hoses, fan & t-stat. She runs great but the water in the exhaust at start up worries me.

I would guess that the exhaust moisture is from condensation. Mine has been doing that since I bought it in 1995. If it quits running, then you have a problem.

Don't be too keen to keep filling the radiator because it goes down that little bit each day. When the engine gets hot the water expands and blows some out of the overflow, so the level drops slightly, it may be that if you leave it a few days without topping up it will remain at the same level. But do carry on with the daily check just in case. Could be that there is nothing wrong at all.

I have a similar problem, but i am hoping the water is condensation from the combustion process after all cars sometimes dribble water from the end of the exhaust pipe.??? and the lower water is due to overspill caused by expansion as the coolant warms up - The water doesn`t seem to drop much below a certain level (very approx 2 inch below cap)

I suspect the head gasket was blown. Do a warm engine compression test and look for two adjacent cylinders with low pressures.
