I finally have the to-30 restored and running ( 5 miles , so far ) And thanks to everyone on here that helped. BUT the lift arms wont go down unless you put weight on them. I had to pull the top cover and un-did the linkage in side the side holes to get it out. ( MAKE A NOTE !!!!! ) WHEN SAND BLASTING THE 2 HOLES THAT HOLD THE SEAT ON, GO ALL THE WAY THRU !!! Any way I talked to previous owner and he said that they were ok last time he ran it. Any helpful hints.

Mike when you get the last reproduction cable it cost more !!!!! Anyway Its in and so far so good on the tractor. I still have to finish the grill ( rebuild - weld -and sand blast then will prime and paint lid at same time. I do have a question about the hinge bolts. Do they have a washer behind them?????

How thick is the oil in the Hydraulics, have you got gear oil in there instead of the thinner GL1 90W. Check the setscrews on the end of the cross-shaft on the Hydraulic Lift Cover that they haven't been tightened too much as this will act like a brake and not allow the shaft to turn. When you have an implement on the link arms it should start to lower when the lever is about 2-1/2" from the top position, anything different to this and it will need resetting, but it isn't that drastic as it will slow it down so much.
For me, check the correct oil or the cross-shaft.

You may have to adjust the lever mechanism. The procedure is in the shop manual.

Willy,
As long as you can push them down to attach an implement is the main thing. It may be that the oil is a little stiff too. How does it work after it is warmed up? What did you find with the OD cable?
