Is there any trick to replacing the rear seal for the PTO shaft???

After removing the bolts, if shaft doesn't readily pull out, try hooking a linkage shaft from your bush hog, or post hole digger, etc., to it and that will give you more pulling space and leverage and allow another person to help if necessary. It should just slide right out. Others have told you all the rest.

Yes, there are.

1 be prepaired to handle the transmission fluid. Are you draining first, or tring to drain as little as possible?

2 Be prepaired to drive the new seal into the housing. I used a 2" PVC coupler.

When I did my 35, I rolled up a plastic container that I had I cut the bottom off, then I shoved it through the seal installed in it's holder, and then installed it on the tractor over the shaft. Then I just twisted and pulled the plastic out. The reason I did this is because every time I tried to mount the piece with the seal in it, the seal would turn inside out when I pushed it over the shaft.

I parked mine in a ditch, and did not loose any
fluid. Level ground and it will pour out everywhere.

no big job at all, did my to-20 in about a half hour, just remove the bolts around it and pull shaft out.
