What weight oil?

Another stupid question, what weight oil should I use in my TO35? Some say 30wt. and some say 10-40. I'm in Vermont and it'll soon be cold. 30wt. seems awfully heavy for cold weather. Would I be able to use synthetic oil in it or should I stay away from it? Also, my PTO clutch seems to be stuck. The PTO works but the dual clutch does not disengage the PTO. Any ideas on what I could do to free it?

Dave, I run 10-40 in my TO 20 here in Iowa in the winter. Make you judgment after asking where are you storing and what type of use in the winter. If you keep the tractor in an enclosed garage a 10w oil will be just fine. If you park outside all winter a 10w-30 or even a 5w-30 is a better option. It just depends on the temp and your experience. No advise on synthetic, never used it. I hope someone else knows the clutch also. Mike
