I thought my p/s was pretty good-then I drove anothers and it was very good. Mine takes a fairly strong turn to get the p/s to start assisting. It is not smooth from left to right. kind of sticks here and there. I also noticed that my system seems to whine a little and the supply line from pump vibrates. My gearbox was dry, but not anymore. My pump fluid is topped off. I did rebuild the front end-both thrust bearings were riding on metal and spindles were dry. I do have some wear at my front pivot pin.
However, power steering acted same as above while tractor was up on jacks. I have not checked output pressure of pump (don't know how) Is it possible pump is weak? Can I turn up output pressure? I was super excited about p/s, now not so sure. Thanks Mark
