Is there any way to put a tachometer on a TO-20?
I know the later models have them, but is there a retro-kit or something for a TO? I'd like to be able to set my pto rpm for certain jobs. TIA for any help.

Karl, yes, you can add a digital tach. for ~$40. I got one from Northern Tools. There are other places that sell them also. Do a search on Google or Yahoo and you will find plenty of them. The digital tachs are self powered, so does not matter if you have a 6V or 12V system. They have a sensing wire that wraps around the spark plug wire to measure RPMs. Works great, I've had one for a couple years now.

You can get a digital tacho that fits on the dash panel, there was a discussion on here about it a couple of weeks ago, check back through the old postings. You need to run the engine at 1500rpm to get 545rpm PTO speed.
