Hi, I'm putting my engine back together and I'm wondering if there is any particular way the tab on the outer governor cup needs to be pointing before I put the timing cover back on? Does it have to line up with anything on the bumper assy on the cover? Or will it spin around and automatically line itself up? Or am completely wrong about how it operates?

I put a new one in my TO-20. The instructions said the tab should be in about the 11:00 oclock position. I'm like you though, I'm not sure if it makes a lot of difference as long as it is not lined up with the spring which might cause it to jam.
I'd like to hear more comments on this one.
