A K&N air filter is an oil soaked cotton gauze filter element sanwiched in wire mesh. The flow and filtering is far superior to any oil bath or paper element. They come with a million mile warranty and the dirtier they get the better they filter. On a car they need cleaned about once every 20K miles. The price is a little high (around $40) but it is well worth it especially if you are working/depending on the tractor. If you really want to change your rings/sleeves, by all means use an oilbath. Those of us that are restoring stock are stuck with the oil bath, but I do not intend to work mine in dusty environment or I would hide a K&N in my oil bath body.

Your oil bath air filter will be far superior to any paper or disposable filter...

The oil bath air filter may be a bit of a hassle but I doubt you will find a more efficient filter. Have you ever looked at all the dirt that settles to the bottom into the oil?I've never seen that much dirt in a paper filter. One thing I like is you can make it new again by cleaning it out,and adding a cup of oil. That seems a lot cheaper than having to buy a paper element every few hours of operation. Unless the tractor is sitting outside in well below freezing temperatures you shouldn't need to use ether to start it. Just my opinion,
Mike M

I am using KN part #RU-0210 5"high 3"dia. Take off the old air cleaner and mount the KN on the end of the air tube. Rig up some way to support the end of the tube. I got the filter wrap to keep out the chunky pieces. Looks good; but a stocking would probally work just as well.

Go to page 3, then look for a posting titled "KN filter upgrade spec.", dated 3/13 & 3/14. In there you will find the part numbers you need and a source.

I must have missed something along the way. What is a K&N Air Filter? Is that an original option?

Try 2310. That is what I have on my TO-35. Should fit just fine.
