Installing a loader on a TO-20

I have an old John Deere NO.30 front loader that is made to fit a 9N-8N Ford and a TO-Te 20 Ferguson Tractors. It has a pump that drives off the front engine pulley. It has a reservoir/ controle valve that is part of the left loader cylinder. I mounted it on my tractor But it only raised about half way up and dropped and that was it. I'm not sure if it's bad cylinder seals or pump or what. I don't really like the pump set up because the only way I could mount the pump was to remove the grill and the tilt hood is in the way. I was thinking about installing a live hydraulic kit and eliminating the front pump and control valve on the loader as these parts are no longer avalible. The cylinder seals are avalible. Does anyone have any knowledge of these loaders? Are the cylinders double acting or single? Thanks for any help you could offer.

If I drive the pump off the rear PTO would that be enough RPM's to operate the pump? I'm trying to get away from a front mounted pump. I realize that would tie up my PTO, but I could take it off when bushhogging. Just a thought.

With out live PTO I don�t think you will be happy. I would look at a belt driven pump try and contact Zane Sherman �bout hiz �Live Thang� that would give ya live hydraulics also.

Probably low on fluid in your resevoir, fill it up to the proper level and your loader will work ok.
