I was hoping someone could tell me the level or the amount of transmission fluid in a TEA 20-85. I took the cap off and I can see fluid (maby 2 liters) is that enough? any help would be appreciated. Brian

To me...now would be a good time to change the 90 wt. oil in the old girl and check to see how much sediment is on the bottom of the sump. If it"s got a lot of gunk in it....you might want to flush it with kerosene/diesel fuel. Then after filling it up you get to check to see if any of the oil is running thru the axle seals onto the brakes and if the pto seal is holding.....or the front transmission seal is good. After you get all those checked out and no leaks....be a good time to think about painting her. Fred OH

The capacity from empty is 5 UK imp. galls or 24 US quarts (whatever that is in US gallons)no more/no less.

I would put 5 gallons in to start, and let it settle out for several minutes and check the dipstick before adding the last gallon. Better to be slightly low than over filled.

It should have about 5 gallons (US) in the TO series sumps. It is a rear axle and transmission fluid as well as a hydraulic fluid for the three point hitch.

I think it holds a total of about 6 US gallons (~22 liters) and the dipstick should be behind your right foot (on the side of the case) sitting on the tractor. J2
