My New Holland dealer is great! I can get a lot of Ferguson parts from him and he is much more reliable than my local MF dealer. Case in point. I bought a TO-30 which had a leaky radiator. Had to remove radiator to take to shop, but lower carriage bolts wouldn"t budge and I damaged them removing them. Ever try to find 7/16 fine thread 1.5 inch carriage bolts? It isn"t easy. In fact I never found them. But I did find coarse thread 7/16 bolts and nuts at my NH dealer. I told him they were for a Ferguson and he gave them to me. Just a note to remind those looking for parts that some things are available from NH, and sometimes that"s a better place to go.

It all comes back to personalities, if the guy behind the counter is one of the few obliging types around then you will get what you ask for, if he is one of the many who don"t know and won"t ask types you have a problem. I have dealt with a lot of parts guys over the years and most of them lack any kind of training for the job they do, most of them have had nothing to do with tractors or farm machinery until they got that job so how can anyone expect them to know what they are talking about. A lot of them always try to pass the buck if things go wrong, it is never their fault. Your experience I am afraid is typical of a lot of dealers and not just AGCO either, I wonder sometimes if the dealership boss is blind to what their employees are doing (or not doing) its like going into battle sometimes just to order even the smallest part. If you supply the part number to them there is very often a big debate about it before they even check it.

Yes, correct. My AGCO (MF) dealer is not apathetic. Rather, they are bordering on arrogant. They know it all; then they give you the wrong part.

Hey Gang-
Now my local New Holland dealer is also the AGCO dealer. Both are owned by CNH (Case/New Holland)...don't know if they own MF too. My guys are very helpful. They will try to find the right part and work with you to get what you need. They were a Ford Tractor dealer for years and business has been in family for as long. It must depend on area.

Sorry to have to agree with you Phil but it is perfectly true what you say, they are arrogant. I keep hearing this time and time again from different people (not just USA)experiencing the same thing, why this should be I have no idea. If I was with MF I would be worried as it does not do their reputation any good at all. If I were going to buy a tractor and I experienced that abuse I would not buy one from them maybe not even a Red and Grey one after that, I would possibly go for something else and I am sure others would too. Possibly they should start to give suitable training to the parts staff on how to deal with customers who pay their salary.

I haven't had any experience with NH but I can support the statement that some AGCO dealers are less than helpful. I had my axle seals and bearings redone at an MF dealer, told him what they were (19 spline TO-30), he ordered wrong parts (for a TO-35), claimed it was my mistake (his claim was TO-30 and TO-35 were the same) and I didn't know what I was talking about, that what I had was TO-20. He finally got the correct parts but didn't pack the bearings, claiming I didn't need it... (even though the parts guy was able to supply me with the correct inner seal..) Oh.. , forgot... the bearing collars from the dealer were $26 EACH!!!! (everything else was about the right price) Jim

Yup, I found the same to be true. I have 2 NH dealers within ~25 minutes drive of my house, but have to drive over an hour to get to the nearest ACGO dealer... so NH is usually my 1st stop.
If they don't have the part, they can usually order it from the Tisco catolog anyway. I have ordered head gasket and oil pan gaskets for my TO thru the NH dealer.

I've found that the Jubilee gas shutoff was an exact fit for my TO-20, the NAA water temp gauge was a perfect fit with just the right length of capillary tubing for my TO, and all the 3 pt hitch parts are the same an the N parts.

As you may be able to tell, I have not had good service from my AGCO dealer, they kind of give me that "wasting my time" look when I ask for TO parts. But they seem eager to sell the big red combine parts. The NH dealer I frequent seems happy to sell me N parts and Tisco parts.
Just my 2 cents.
