Can the TE20 be fitted with a mechanical tach? If not are there modifications one can make to adapt the T030 or Ford 8N/9N mechanical systems?

My TO30 has a tack it has a gear adaptor on the back of the generator like the TO35 and is cable driven.I bought it for $30.00 at a tractor show a real find at any pricein my book.

The genuine Ferguson Tacho was driven by a pulley running on the back of the fan belt at the generator (well one model was like this) I think the one the guys are telling you about, the digital one is far neater and works perfectly and I personally would go for that one.

Tony you can put a Ferguson tack on if you can find one ,my dad had a TE20 with the tack you will need to replace the generator to a Delco because the tack drives off the back of it and the Lucus will not work ,The set up is about like the To35.

You can also put an electronic tach on the tractor that gets it's signal from the coil. That's what I did. I clamped it to the steering column with a hose clamp.

The TE20, and all the TO's and N's can be fitted with a digital tachometer that works darn good. I have made posts in the past on these, I installed one a couple years ago on mine and have been quite happy with it. Below is a link to Northern Tools where I got mine, there are other sources as well. I just glued the display right to the dash. It has a sensing wire that wraps around the spark plug wire, and a built-in battery, so it does not matter if you are running 6V or 12V.
