TO-20 Air intake mounting

I am finishing up a resoration of a 1950 TO-20 Serial #TO38478. The air intake assembly has a glass jar to collect dust. I am not sure how the assembly is mounted to the vertical down tube that feeds the oil bath air cleaner. Did it simply use a 90 degree bend rubber hose? or is their a metal elbow that would probably use 2 short pieces of hose to mount the intake horn & jar? Is any other hardware used to mount the assembly besides the hose clamps? the back of the air intake horn looks like it my have had a bracket welded on it at one time.
None of the photos posted on the the web site show a Fergy with a glass jar on the air intake, was that a stock set-up? Thanks for any help.

Richard,
These were aftermarket items. Iv'e seen several strings on them on the N board. I don't recall what the trade name is or exactly how they hooked up. You might try "glass jar" or something similar in the N board archives.

Hi Rich I have a 1950 TO-20 ser#TO33322. I've never seen a TO-20 with a glass jar dust collector, it sounds very interesting!I would appreciate it if you could Email me a picture or better post one for everyone to see.Good Luck with the fergy!!

Richard,

I have two T0-20's (a '50 & a 51). Neither have a glass jar on the air intake. Can you e-mail a picture? One has a curved metal pipe (connected at both ends by short rubber hoses and the other had (it's disassembled for rebuild) just an old radiator hose from the collector to the carb. Do you want to see a picture of either?
