Aluminum thermostat housing on my 54 TEA 20 cracked right where the temp sensor goes. If I grind it out and 'fill' with something like JB Weld, will it hold the pressure of the cooling system?

Thanks

I patched the block on a GMC 2 ton truck with j b weld. The crack was 10 inches long and at least 1/2 inch wide. It's been almost a year and it's not leaking yet.

Have a buddy that welded a cracked motor block with JB Weld, drove it for years never gave him a problem Be sure to clean the area well and scuff it up before you apply.
