Hello all, I"ve had other tractors before, but this is my first fergy, I"ve owned a 8N a Case VAC a Long 445, and a Farmall H I"ve always done my own work, but I have found the best way to learn about a tractor is to talk to people who own the same tractor. I picked up my TO20 Sat. runs real good but after, putting a new oil pressure guage on it I find out it has no oil pressure. I ordered a rebuild kit for the oil pump last night, since I was off work today I decided to go ahead and take her oil pan off, and see what was going on. Bear with me I don"t have a manual yet so part of this may sound dumb. 1st thing I find is what I think is the strainer, bucket shaped deal with 2 holes in it, appears to me to be in wrong. Shouldn"t the open end be pointing down, so you could get a oil filter in there? 2nd thing it has no oil filter, shouldn"t the filter go in the open end of the strainer? 3rd thing the oil line coming from the pump to the pick up tube was loose, could this cause the no oil press. problem? The pump is off and seems to work, when turned by hand seems like it should have worked, but it is off now and the kit is on the way so I"m going to rebuild it anyway. Anybody has any suggestions on the best way to go about rebuilding the pump? I took the #4 rod cap off the check the bearings, they looked good, but I went ahead and ordered a new set form my local dealer this evening, thought since I was ther I might as well change them to. Any suggestions as to what else to look at while the pan is off. Thanks for taking the time to read this, the search an this site has been a great help, but some of this stuff I couldn"t find. Thanks again jeff
