Hi Chris, Was your hydraulics working ok before you found all this? It looks like part of a broken hydraulic piston, but if that was the case the hydraulics would not lift very fast. It is possible that it has been smashed at sometime, the Pump repaired but the housing not cleaned out. The gasket being in there too suggests that it has been apart although for the life of me I can't understand why they didn't clean everything out. You have to wash it out if anything breaks up in there as there will be a lot of small fragments and metal particles that will be sucked through the Pump. I will send some pics to your email so you can see just what it might be...John

Sorta looks like a coolwhip can with gear oil on it and pieces of the hyd. lift cover or the oil pump gasket. BUt I'm just guessing.

Was ya leaking out of the pump or lift area? If so that may be why.

Chris, Since you have posted the picture, I can tell it was not what I originally thought it was: pieces of the gasket. Yes it does look like the picture. Was your pump working before you took the pto out? What it appears to be is pieces of the piston for the hydraulic pump. If it is at least you know the part is available if nothing else is broken(it is available on this site under tractor parts, your tractor, hydraulic system and piston, for $36.75). While the pto is out it is no problem to pull the pump and take a look at it. From there you can tell if you will need to replace just the piston or buy the kit or need a whole pump depending on if stuff is busted up pretty bad. Good luck.

I have the same problem. I took my pump out and cleaned up all other parts laying in the belly. I took the pump apart and found, not only broken pistons, but broken inlet and discharge valves. I also found 5 gallons of water under the oil that was likely responsible for the pump and the rear differential bearings, as well. So what's in your case? Might want to check....

Nope, mine was sealed up too.
