I have a deep hard knock that only happens every 5-10 secounds. At first I thought it was just a backfire or pop, but the more I listen to it I think it's a knock. Any thoughts since it is not constant? Thanks.

You don't say if it is a Gas or Diesel, if it is a Diesel, the needle in the injectors can stick open and that will cause it to knock and while normally it would stay like that occasionally it would release the needle and it would run ok again.

Difficult to say what it is without hearing it, could it be a loose baffle in the exhaust. Have you checked the timing or the plugs to see if they need resetting. (.025" for the plugs and .022" on the points) You could also take the tank off and check to see if one of the caps on the valve stems has come off, maybe you have a sticking valve that caused this or just the clearances too wide.
