I have one of these engines. I know of a TO 30 with a bad engine.

I don't know how much help this will be but I contacted the folks at the URL below and asked them if there was a bolt in later model replacement for the Z120 in my TO-20 and they said not to their knowledge. Since the 20 and 30 engines will swap I assume that means no on the 30 also. If you find out differently please post.

Thanks for posting. I'm leery of buying the TO30 at this point. Paul

It's good to be cautious. I wasn't as cautious as I should have been when buying my 20 and paid a little to much for it. Having said that I think it is the right tractor for what I need it to do and I really enjoy using it. I guess it would depend on the condition of the rest of the tractor and how much work you are able or willing to do yourself. Mine is down for an engine rebuild right now and parts are available. Of course some parts are very expensive, crank, block, head and they are also impossible to check out until after you buy. Do you have any idea what is wrong with the engine?
