A while back I was considering retrofitting a K & N filter to my TE 20.
For those of you who are interested, here are the part numbers: filter is #RC 2310; the pre filter (a filter cover) is #22-8028PK. Source I found is called AJUSA.com. Cost is about $40.
K & N Engineering was very helpful in the filter selection, even using their formula to calculate the engine cfm, etc.
For those who are "purists", I intend to keep the "oil bath" type filter in place so the tractor will look stock. Not sure how I am going to apply the new filter, but it will look ok when I am done.

Dennis,
Would you believe I found the box my filter came in this morning. RC-2310 is the number. You should have no trouble applying the filter. You'll like it

I appreciate the endorsement.
Can you tell us how you did the retrofit?
Thanks.

Take the pipe off of the carburetor and disconnect it from the old air filter. Hide it where you can find it later in case you want to sell the tractor in the future, in original shape. The new filter should come with a hose clamp. Slide the K&N filter over the intake horn of the carb and tighten the hose clamp. Should be good to go. Keep an old toothbrush in your tool kit so you can brush the big junk off the filter. K&N also makes a kit to clean an re-oil the filter when it really gets nasty. I normally have to brush the filter after brush-hoggin. Lotsa fluff in the seed heads of sage grass. I have been entirely pleased with mine. Simplifies the whole maintenance thing and does a dandy job. I'll be surprised if you don't notice a little better response from the engine too.
Sandy
