I have a TO-30 but acquired it without a PTO shield. We had a TO-30 50 years ago that my father bought new. It had a PTO shield that bolted on where the sway limiting chains on the lower links attach to the tractor. Does anyone know of a source for the shield?

I have a cast aluminum cylindrical cover that screws on over the rear PTO shaft. What I"m looking for is the shield that wraps around the top and sides of the PTO shaft and fastens to the tractor with four tabs that fit over the four stud bolts that surround the PTO shaft.

That guard you speak of is still used today on the modern tractor to attach or cover the PTO shaft to the implement. One from any of the 35 or 135/148 series should fit ok.

Thanks, John. I didn't know the same shield was used on later models. Perhaps I can find one in a salvage yard or new parts store now that I know I can ask for more than just one for a TO-30.

The ones from the Fords will also fit, all you have to do is look at the layout of the four studs that the check chain brackets mount on, they are nearly all the same on this type of tractor as it is a standard dimension and not peculiar to Ferguson.

You can buy after market shields made of aluminum lots of places that sell antique tractor parts. Look at the market place on the left of this forum. If you want original which were cast iron I think, you will have to go to salvage places.
