If you have POSITION CONTROL you do not need it!!
TO-20 ,TO-30 ,9n ,2n only have draft control. The 8n has position and draft control.

I have a '50 TO-20. it has "weak" hydraulics and has to be constantly tweaked. what is the difference between draft and position controls and what does this tractor have. Would I benefit from a Zane Thang or do I even need one? thanks Ferg

Hi Rick I also have a 1950 TO-20. My fergy has a strong hydraulic pump but the lift cylinder leaks down rather fast (about 2 min with a 250 lb load).The TO-20 has draft control only. Draft control is used mostly for plowing. The top link spring controls the depth of the plow. If the plow goes too deep, the pressure on the top link spring raises the 3 point hitch untile the pressure is relieved. A tractor with position control can set the 3 point hitch in any position and it will stay put(position of the 3 point hitch is realitive to the position of the touch control lever).WOW that was long!! Yes you will absolutely benefit from a zanethang!! I have one, it makes blading and grading a pleasure. If you have any doubt check the archives and email zane himself.
