I bought a new crank gear from YT. The new gear is 1/2 tooth off from orig .Anyone run acrss this berfore? I have seen this in automotive app. Please help. Mike

Michael,
I think I'd check at a MF dealer and compare my original with one of theirs. The extra cost, if any, might might not be more than the key cutting.
I've got to get into my TO-20 too, so let us know what you find out.

I presume you refer to tooth alignment to keyway. If your supplier hasn"t a more accurate one, I guess you"ll have to take it to your friendly machine shop & get them to broach a new keyway. If I recall, those gears aren"t too hard, so it should be able to be done without annealing / re-hardening.
