T0-35 Carb ?

I have what appears to be a 1956 to 1958 model T0-35 due to some the casting numbers. The identi-plate was gone when I bought the tractor. The tractor runs but the carb. and maybe the govenor needs adjusting. My question is what kit do I need, the carb that is on it is a Marvel. It has no numbers on it what so ever. I need a complete rebuild kit for it. The big needle that I assume is for the idle is bent slightly and will not work right. I am new to the ferguson world but I am learning fast. Any help is always appreciated. Thanks Jon B. Williams

The big needle is the power or main jet and adjusts the mixture for the higher power levels. Usually the small carb kit has new main and idle needles in it. The TO-35 used the Continental Z134 engine on it and I don't know what the model number of the Marvel-Schebeler carb is, but there should be a roundish brass plate on the side of the carburetor that says TSX XYZ, the XYZ being the model number.(I think it might be a TSX 605, but I'm not sure.) If you can't find it there, you might check with Massey Ferguson dealer and see if they can help. Look at the parts folks on the left side of this forum. they can probably help.

Since you are new to the Ferguson world, consider getting a Ferguson Shop Manual, Parts Manual, and Owners Manual for you tractor. A lot of these questions can be found in the system descriptions found in these references. Get the factory manuals, not the IT ones. There is more info in the factory manuals than in the IT ones, which is better for beginners.

Have you tried cleaning the carb first? Maybe just a good cleaning is all she needs. My 2 cents
