Hi folks -

I found a parts supplier for overhauling my Standard engine, and the UPS truck showed up yesterday with pistons/sleeves, bearings and other parts. I'm a happy guy. I split the tractor this morning and am going to dive in this week while I'm on vacation. I have the IT service manual for the TE/TO tractors, but it's almost useless for engine internals on the TEA, and one thing I am unsure about is the cam chain and sprocket alignment for getting the valve timing correct. (Of course I didn't look at it when I took it apart - Doh! ) Does anyone have a manual and could look up that information? Thanks in advace.

P.S. Ten years ago I took it apart when the timing chain blew and somehow got it back together correctly, (I think - it seemed to run fine) but I don't remember how now. And this was pre-Internet;^)

On the main sprocket and cam shaft sprocket, you will see two marks, one on each, these should line up to have correct timing. Did you remone the cam shaft sprocket and camshaft, before marking anything?? or have you marked tdc on cyl 1 at the flywheel?. Don't worry, I've got a complete service manual for TEA/TED/TEF. E mail me if your stuck, and I'll e mail you the procedure.

Good luck Stephen
